Prof. Winnie MAK
Professor, Department of Psychology,
The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Prof. Mak is a community-based clinical psychologist who works closely with people in recovery, non-government organizations, and corporates to translate research into practice. Prof Mak’s research mainly focuses on stigma of social minorities, mental health promotion and personal recovery, digital mental health, mindfulness and Buddhist psychology.
Prof Mak is keen on using technology to increase access and availability of evidence-based mental health interventions to the general population. I co-founded the social enterprise, StoryTaler (https://www.storytalerhk.org/), and developed the first online stratified stepped care mental health platform (Jockey Club TourHeart+ Project, https://www.jcthplus.org/) for working adults in Hong Kong.
